Do Canadians have freedom of religion?
Yes, why not? You are free to worship at church, at any church you like to go. To the world, the Conservative government announced the creation of a new entity, Office of Religious Freedom to spread messages of religious freedom around the world.
Then, what about our freedom right here at home?
Consider these examples.
At Christmas time, you are "politely" requested to say “Seasons Greeting” instead of “Merry Christmas” which is considered offensive.
At universities, you got money granted to set-up pro-choice (abortion) clubs. But, the pro-life club students got banned on campus, since universities consider pro-life clubs violate their by-laws.
Weeks ago, a Nova Scotia student was suspended from his high school for wearing this T-shirt. A yellow T-shirt with the slogan “Life is Waste Without Jesus”, it was considered offensive, and a “hate talk.”
Here at home, enough is enough. Your religious freedom right is confined at church, provided that you do not practise at the public.
Your great tolerance caused these. You are muted. You chose those politicians at elections.
Where are you, bystanders? As it tells in Luke 10:25-37 “The Parable of the Good Samaritan”. The robbers were criminals, the man who passed by on the other side was not innocent, but deemed to help the crimes.
Do not act like a bystander. Pray for us.
I am one of the presenters, who will present our opinions tomorrow for Bill 13 which is a social engineering statement, at Standing Committee on Social Policy in Queen’s Park.
