More than 700 Palestinians have been killed and 3,085 injured since the Israel assaults on Gaza began on 27 December 2008. Almost ONE-THIRD of the victims were innocent children, in addition to students and civilians taking refuge at 3 United Nations Schools (neutral war-zone) in Palestine. HIF is deeply concerned about this humanitarian crisis and we believe, as global citizens, we should stand up firmly and say "STOP" to the situation.

以色列自2008年12月27日襲擊加沙地帶以來，已造成超過700 名巴勒斯坦人死亡，3085人受傷。其中三分之一為無辜兒童，其餘為避難於三所聯合國學校（位於巴勒斯坦戰爭中立區）的學生和平民。HIF對此人道主義危機深切關注，同時我們相信我們作為全球公民，應該站出來，對此事件堅決說"停止"。

HIF urges for an IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. We strongly condemn the Israel government for the blockade of Gaza, including the banning on the crossings of humanitarian supplies such as food, water and medicine, as well as prohibition against entry of international press. We do NOT accept any substituting policies such as the 3-hours daily truce proposed by Israel right now. The Israel government should end the air-strikes on Gaza and withdraw the land troops from the region immediately! The blockade has to be ended.

HIF呼籲以巴雙方立即停火。我們強烈譴責以色列政府對加沙地帶的封鎖，包括人道救援物資的禁運（諸如食品、水和藥物等）和國際媒體的禁行。我們不接受任何替換政策，包括現在以色列提議的每天三小時休戰協議。以色列政府必須停止對加沙的一切暴力行為，並且立即從這一地區撤軍，解除封鎖。

At the same time, we condemn the continuous firing of rockets to Israel civilians from Hamas. We believe, WAR COULD NOT AND SHOULD NOT BE A MEANS TO SOLVE THIS CONFLICT.

與此同時，我們譴責哈馬斯武裝組織對以色列平民進行的連續火箭彈襲擊。我們堅信，戰爭不可能也不應該成為解決衝突的途徑。

Global leaders should take responsibilities now to stop this humanitarian crisis and facilitate the peace-building process in Israel-Palestine relation. We believe that the United Nations should be empowered to intervene justly and mediate on the conflict without delay.

各國領導人應該承擔制止人道危機和協助以巴和平建交的責任。我們相信在此事件上，聯合國應該即時被賦予更多干涉權。

We severely condemn the United States government for ignoring global consensus and adding obstacles to the conflict resolution talks in the U.N Security Council. We are encouraged by and in full support of the United Nations Resolution 1860 adopted this morning calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces and enabling the transfer of humanitarian supplies into Gaza. We also urge for president-elect of U.S., Barack Obama to act upon his conscience and speak out for injustice as he promised to in the elections.

我們嚴厲譴責美國政府忽視國際社會一致看法而行使其否決權，在聯合國安理會議上阻礙巴以和談的進行。我們絕對支持聯合國安全理事會表決通過，呼籲加薩走廊「立即、持久」停火，以促成以色列部隊「完全撤出」。同時，我們呼籲美國總統接班人奧巴馬站出來主持公道，兌現在大選時的諾言。

Above all, WAR will NOT bring peace to any conflicts in any region. As we have seen in the situation of Cambodia, we realize how destructive legacies of wars could be to the people and development of a society. The pain is life-lasting. And innocent children should not pay the price.

戰爭不可能為任何地區的任何衝突帶來和平。柬埔寨的歷史啟示我們，戰爭會為人民生活和社會發展帶來無窮後患。戰爭的代價不應該由無辜的孩子來承擔。

HIF urges our members in the community to unite and take action together in order to advocates PEACE in Hong Kong. For every minute we wait, many more lives go in vain in Gaza. People in ASEAN countries, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Latin America, and even some Jewish communities across the world have stood up to say STOP to this crisis. Hong Kong, what are you waiting for?

因此，HIF呼籲社會各界朋友們站出來，成為香港的和平宣導者。我們每等多一分鐘，有更多生命就會白白地葬送。東南亞國協、歐洲、中東、北美和拉丁美洲的人們，甚至一些國際猶太團體都已經站出來對此危機說"停止"。香港，你還在等什麼？

The demonstration is initiated by two students from the University of Hong Kong, Felix Lam and Christopher Ma, and recieves massive support from the community. 和平策略？為所欲為

我知朱凱迪寫好多篇文，咁我亦先旨聲明，文只對點而不對人，邊個都可以講，邊個都可以答。

呢個「和平策略」好美侖美奐，道理好簡單，評論好像將以色雙方既立場放開，然後拋個超然既「和平策略」，咁就一天都光哂。但最大問題係，所謂「和平策略」只不過將巴勒斯坦啦啦隊既論點包裝，再以所謂「和平策略」寫出來，只係當中再加入一ｄ惡毒既反戰主義。

第一點「放寬封鎖」策略，背後既所謂事實來歷不明，只係從巴勒斯坦角度講。這篇文做乜唔直接點寫「唔放寬封鎖唔道德」，然後將其道德理由道明，而是寫「放寬封鎖係必要手段」？

第二點「民眾責怪」策略重搞笑。所謂「民眾責怪」不外乎道德制空與及愚民手法，而將空襲既責任歸咎以色列，恐怕係呢個世界最惡毒既事，好似要俾賊打劫仲要幫個賊講道理。呢個唸法寫埋入人道法律上，悲。返回正題，哩一點變成「策略」，不如直接ｄ講：「你班以色列屠夫罪大惡極！」，然後互無交集地爭論不休好過。

第三點其實只係第二點既延續。係阿拉法年代，同情以色列既巴勒斯坦人常常受到政治迫害。外人當然無權為巴勒斯坦選政府，但係，如果咁樣叫「巴勒斯坦真實處境的構成部份」，咁樣同情以色列既巴勒斯坦人真係抵被人政治迫害，而且佢地無權選巴勒斯坦政府。

"我們沒理由袖手旁觀"--That's an excellent comment. A lot of people feel that the Middle East is so far away that it's not relevant. The fact is everything in this world is related. Think of it this way: For every person killed in this Gaza attack, probably 100 terrorists were born. The net result is that the whole world (including Israel itself) has become more unstable, and there's a much increased risk of another 9/11. What the current Israeli and American administrations refuse to accept is that military force simply DOESN'T WORK.

甘地曾說過,手段若如种子,則目的如果实. 你播下梨的种子,又怎可能獲得橙.
這道理其实好簡單,美以是一直不懂,抑或和平根本就不是美以(esp. USA)的真正目的? Let's judge it for yourself.
BTW, "為求目的,不擇手段"在邏輯上其实是有問題的.
