Well, even the most outspoken homophobe on board didn't reply to this one. Many other seems not to notice this topic.

Are sexual minorities "too timid" so that it is not so "contraversy" or is it indifference of the general public make it as hard to "follow up"?

踢爆涂謹申

2005年5月21日, 城市論壇討論性傾向歧視立法, 出席者包括明光社蔡志森, 立法會議員涂謹申, 吳敏倫, 性權會邵國華. 以立法會議員涂謹申身份出席的涂謹申, 當時的立場, 離奇地跟明光社立場一致. 事後我寄了電郵給涂謹申, 表示我對其言論不滿:

Dear Legislator To,

I feel disappointed to your position in City forum held 22 May 2005 on Sexual Orientation Descrimination Ordience.

As an elected legislator, your responsibility is to make sure that your judgement is based on well research. I agree that not every member of our society hold the same belief and you have the right to stand for those against SODO, but what made me dispointed is, your speech in City Forum has showed me you directly quoted the arguments from the groups and orgainzations against the SODO without verifications, as many of the arguments are questionable but you looked like you had absolutely no idea about that. If you have made your standpoint after careful consideration to both the pro groups and against groups, I would have no complaint. But you failed to show us that you have ever read and considered the arguments from the pro groups which made me frustrated.

To make it simple: speak before research or keep your mouth shutted. Never be a copycat.

At the same time I did not see your respect to the rights of the minorities who are lack of protection without the legislation. You may express your concern to the Church groups but would you please also give some practical true suggestions to protect the minorities.

I understand that the Democratic Party is hunger for the huge number of votes from the Church, but I would like you to know that I used to believe the Democratic Party is one of the few political parties speaking out for the right things rather than for the power. If DP has decided to go another way round, please kindly make it public to let me adjust my belief.

明光社十週年研討會

涂謹申：別小看三十萬基督徒的力量

【時代論壇訊】以個人基督徒的身分關心及改變社會似乎困難，若集香港1181所華語教會，又可為社會做甚麼？明光社已於五月六日假宣道堂北角堂舉行十周年研討會及專題：「1181的力量──教會如何推動社關工作」，由循道衛理聯合教會九龍堂牧師李炳光、宣道會基蔭堂主任牧師蕭如發、前立法會議員黃成智以及立法會議員涂謹申分享信息，約有七十人出席。

立法會議員涂謹申走在政府及市民之間參與社關工作時，就發現當中有不同的力量及利益運行，包括政治、金錢及不同的價值觀，不管怎樣，他相信一切事由神掌管，神的力量為大。「不要小看三十萬的基督徒的力量，以性傾向問題為例，只要大家集合起來，有共同而正確意識形態，在不同途徑中表達意見，就可反映正面的影響。」他指，透過明光社這大網絡，讓大眾得到更多資訊，掌握社會所發生的事，更有助推動社關工作。

明白了沒有? 涂謹申本來就是明光社的自己友. 原來, 所謂澈底研究雙方論點, 都不過是 "一切事由神掌管，神的力量為大" , 而最後利益, 都歸於 "三十萬的基督徒的力量" , 亦即自己隸屬宗教之原則.

每個人都有自己的一套, 立法會議員亦不例外. 有立場有甚麼不對? 大方直認就是了. 可是, 有自己的一套, 卻又收藏起來, 扮作為各方周詳考慮, 到頭來原來是奸細, 暗渡陳倉為某組織暗裡辦事, 涂謹申, 民主派就是這麼一回事嗎? 我想你本來就沒打算對得起香港人, 你對得住明光社的自己友就夠了. 所以我不怕說, 涂謹申, 你不要臉.

到底基督教原教份子, 又有多少潛伏在各權力機構, 包括政府, 立法會, 各委員會, ...?

On IDAHO

IDAHO is an international movenment. It is not just for gays and lesbians to "come out" and demand a stop to this horrible behaviors. Prejudice is not good, but when prejudice put in action, it would become an oppressive force against another group of people.

Prejudice based on skin color when put in action become racist behavior. Prejudice against gays, lesbians and transgenders when put in action, become homophobic behaviors.

It is not just start this last few years. But it is just that the sexual minorities are becoming more "visible" because there are more organizations "coming out" to bash them (or oppress them, or insult them... take your pick).

If there is a group in society is not being treated equally, we are suffered as a consequence.

Tell a friend. Come out and march against homophobia.

一點資料補充

香港首次的同志遊行應是2004年10月, 由HORIZONS(啟同服務社)發起,當天晚上環繞蘭桂坊遊行一圈, 雖然人數不算太多,但亦是開創先河的第一次.

至於國際不再恐同日IDAHO, 這是一個世界性活動, 首次舉行是2005年, 香港自第一屆開始參與, 今年已是第三年參加。或者可以說IDAHO是一個契機, 藉此與世界接軌做一點事情關注恐同及歧視, IDAHO是眾多行動方法的其中一種.

IDAHO的「正日」是5月17日, 為的是紀念1990年5月17日，世界衛生組織 (WHO) 將「同性戀」從精神病名冊中除名。但由於不同國家的安排不同, 但大致都是在5.17前後一星期舉辦. 因此香港連年舉辦的日子都不同, 但大概都是取決於那一年較接近的星期日舉行, 而不一定是5月20日.

表達關於性小眾歧視的訴求方法有很多, 可能是對抗性的行動, 示威, 抗議, 也可能是投訴, 成立關注小組, 在同志圈內引起關注, 連結公民社會合作, 紀錄歧視個案, 發佈歧視/同志人權紀錄報告等等

問題來啦....

有少許問題,
為何同志團體在2004年才開始在這個同志國際日舉行遊行呢? 是否因為維護家庭聯盟攻擊大家才有引發搞不再反恐同日呢?

過去不在5月20日搞同志運動, 請問會在什麼節日表逹同志的訴求呢? 怎樣come out呢?
