印度著名小說家及社會活動家羅伊()，十一月三日獲頒悉尼和平獎。
羅伊除了以其《微物之神》聞名世界外，她還關心印度的貧窮，並鼓吹非暴力抗爭，關注納瑪達（Narmada）水庫計劃被遷徙居民。
近年，她也加入反對美國侵略及佔領伊拉克的行列，並支持反抗美軍力量，亦因如此，保守派的評論者曾反對頒予羅伊和平獎；同時，她亦是反對新自由主義及所謂"自由貿易"的重要人物。
她把獎金捐給澳洲原住民運動。
