A joint statement from Hong Kong citizen media: Stand by Eddie Chu Hoi Dick and Fearless in Face of Threats
Newly elected lawmaker Eddie Chu Hoi Dick, who has been endorsed with more than 84,000 votes, started his social activism with citizen investigative reports that uncover social unjust in Hong Kong.
Today, he receives death threats because he fights against the corruption regarding land development in New Territories. He and his family cannot even return home. We condemn the dark forces and demand the police to investigate the incident thoroughly. We, member of local citizen media community, will also remain fearless in face of threats. We vow to continue exposing the collusion between the government, the developers, the rural privileged groups and the triads in land development. Eddie Chu Hoi Dick has never fought alone, not in the past, not in this current battle, and not in the future. We will always stand by him in the fight for social justice.
