The World Health Organization confirmed that air pollution has become the greatest environmental risk to human health last year. Therefore, it is necessary for governments to alleviate the deterioration of air pollution. According to the "2018 World Air Quality Report”, which was issued by Greenpeace and Air Visual, China and Hong Kong were on the list in the annual average PM2.5 concentration ranking, they were ranked at 12th and 35th respectively. It shows that we cannot ignore the problem of air pollution and defend our quality of life.

Face masks seem to have become a necessity in our daily life today with a view to defeating Covid-19, and suspension of work and classes are not unusual to epidemic prevention. However, due to the severe air pollution in Bangkok last year, the government ordered all aided schools to suspend classes. Quite a number of citizens wore masks when they went out, reflecting that the quality of the air would affect the lives of citizen and hinder the development of tourism. Meanwhile, the food crisis is a predictable consequence. In 2014, the research result of the academic journal "Nature-Climate Change" pointed out that crops were influenced by air pollutants and could not grow as an usual. Scholars predicted that if the problem persisted, global food production would be decreased by no less than 10% after 30 years. The problem of air pollution is coming head-on, and citizens should work hand in hand to reduce the pollutants emissions. Of course, governments are duty-bound to work on it. Legislation for reducing emissions should give top priority on public health industry. Moreover, in the long term, encouraging the development of scientific research and technology is the best way to change the energy consumption structure and it would be beneficial to maintain our living standard in a high level.

As we all know, traffic is one of the sources of air pollutants. When we are talking about the development of electric vehicles, people always focus on its disadvantages, including the average lifespan is only eight years, and the mileage is less than the traditional vehicles, which reduces consumers' desire to purchase. At the same time, the international price of oil always fluctuates, and it is common seen to record the lowest history, which has greatly reduced the appeal of electric vehicles. In view of this, the governments not only eliminate gasoline and diesel vehicles, but they can also better utilization their power to require public transportation to switch to electric vehicles and support emerging industries for improving the production market for electric vehicles and developing better batteries and related products. As a result, the outcome will lead to show the governments' commitment to safeguard the quality of life of citizens and gain more public support.
