4. 我們呼龥中日人民須警覺兩國人民的形像在對方的各類媒體(如報章、電視、教科書) 中均有可能被扭曲與矮化。
5. 我們希望新聞傳媒負上更多的社會責任，在內容上避免偏頗的報導、反映多角度見解及確保有質素的討論。

１） わたしたちは、第二次世界大戦中の旧日本軍による中国侵略を控えめに記載した中学校歴史教科書を合格とする、文部科学省の教科書検定の結果に納得できません。
２) わたしたちは、日本と中国に住んでいる人々の言論・表現の自由を尊重すると同時に、最近の両国における暴力行為に対して非難します。
3) わたしたちは、日本と中国に住んでいる人々が理性的に現在の状況を打開し、協力して解決することを希望します。
4) わたしたちは、新聞、TV、教科書をはじめとしたメディアによる、日本と中国に住んでいる人々についての偏った表現に注意するよう呼び掛けます。
5) わたしたちは、メディアが偏見を助長しない報道を行い、さまざまな意見を反映し、質の高いディスカッションを促す社会的責任を果たすよう求めます。

To our Chinese and Japanese fellows,
We are Anti-Barbarity!
Not Anti-Japanese, Not Anti-Chinese.
1. We oppose the Japanese coalition government’s recent endorsement of secondary school text books that understate and soft-pedal the violent invasion and occupation of China by the Japanese Imperial Army during the Second World War.
2. While supporting the right of both Chinese people and Japanese people to peacefully and vigorously express their views, we also condemn the recent destructive behaviour of some of the protesters in both countries.
3. We encourage people in China and Japan to adopt a more rational, inclusive and cooperative approach in addressing issues between the two countries.
4. We also caution people in China and Japan to beware of distorted media representations of the people in both countries (in various types of media such as newspaper, TV, textbooks, etc.).
5. We call on the news media to be more socially responsible, to avoid biased reporting, and to ensure multiple voices and high quality discussion is included in their media coverage.
