今早股市節目說黑莓的股價大跌，然後我在郵箱裡看到朋友傳來有關黑莓的消息：
一直以來，黑莓手機都強調自己有最高度的訊息保安，由黑莓送出的電郵，均被加密，難以破解，所以很多政府高官（香港也是），都會用黑莓。
然而，原來 RIM 早於 2007和2008年與俄羅斯和中國達成協議，幫助這些政治監視手機用戶。很快，RIM 也會向印度、沙特亞拉伯和阿聯酉等國，提供監控服務。
根據 Forbes 的報導，早於 2007 年 11 月，RIM 已向俄羅斯電訊公司 Mobile TeleSystems 提供解碼方法，而該公司再把相關資訊交與聯幫安全局 Federal Security Bureau 以換取進入俄羅斯市場。
2008年1月，RIM 宣報它正式進入中國市場，期間這公司花了多個月時間，確保它們的手機不會對中國的通訊業構成威脅。換句說，它已協助中國政府監控由黑莓手機發出的訊息。
2010年7月28日，印度政府得知可以迫 RIM 交出解碼方法，要求 RIM 協助監控黑莓用戶的電郵和訊息，否則把它趕出市場。
兩天前阿聯酋政府又公開說，會停止黑莓某些功能，如電郵和瀏覧網站等。
目前 RIM 拒絕公開它們與 175 個國家的協定，只強調手機符合政府的保安要求並尊重用戶私隱。

接受阿拉伯國家要求，屏閉色情網站
最新消息：
科威特al-Jarida日报称，根据科威特通信部的要求，RIM“初步同意”屏蔽3,000个色情网站，但RIM要求到年底前完成屏蔽工作。印度《经济时报》称，RIM已同意印度安全部门监控黑莓手机服务。而沙特阿拉伯也要求移动通讯提供商中止黑莓手机的即时短消息服务。
