Big Mac Index是Economist搞出來的外匯指標，以巨無霸的價格來討論不同地方的貨幣價值．
亞洲勞工資訊(Asian Labour News)於去年（２００４）搞了一個新數據New Big Mac Index，來比較不同地區的麥當奴員工要工作多長時間才能享用巨無霸餐，發現北京的員工要比美國的多工作１７４％才能享用巨無霸餐：
We then calculated how many more or
less hours/minutes workers in McDonald’s overseas worked compared to their counterparts in
the US (e.g., hours of work required to earn Big Mac in Beijing [104] – hours
of work required to earn Big Mac in the US [29] = 75 minutes). We then
expressed that figure as a percentage (i.e., more or less minutes worked by
non-US employees to earn Big Mac [75]/minutes worked by US employees to earn
Big Mac [29] X 100 = 259%). Thus, in Beijing, McDonald’s employees work 174% longer to buy a burger
than employees in New
York.
