根據一直以來佔領中環接受過大大小小訪問的經驗，發覺受訪時談及的內容以及我們認為最重要的訊息大多沒有在報導中被提及。當中涉及很多原因，但眾所周知主流媒體依靠的是廣告收入，就算說「編輯自主」其實又怎能不受商業因素所影響呢？到頭來，主流媒體所服務的就是資本家。
相比起流水作業式操作的主流傳媒，佔領中環相信民間媒體由下而上、自發式的運作更貼近我們的理念。其實，要了解佔領中環是什麼一回事，聲明更能表達我們所想，最好當然是到來親自體驗共治生活，以了解當中的困難與理想。
因此，我們謹此宣佈，佔領中環核心成員達成共識，不再接受主流媒體任何形式的訪問，只接受民間傳媒採訪。

Following the flurry of interviews that we have conducted in the wake of the High Court's recent ruling, we have decided that we will bring an end to these formalities. Having read most of the press that has surrounded the occupation in the last week, we have discovered that all of the exertion of giving interviews really comes to nothing in the end- lengthy and heartfelt exchanges are reduced to a series of sound bytes, stripped of any substantial content whatsoever. This does not even make for interesting reading, and we regret having entertained the media with such cordiality and sincerity in the first place.
Of course, we are not blaming anyone, we understand that even the most well-intentioned journalists are beholden to certain interests, and that they cannot have it their own way with their editors breathing down their throats.
Thus, we would like to formally declare that we will not be accepting any requests for interviews besides those from media sources that we trust. We will take on the responsibility of covering the goings-on of Occupy Central ourselves. If you remain interested in covering this movement, you should realize that we cannot possibly distill what this movement is 'about' into a quote. We recommend that you come down and have a conversation with us, rather than subjecting us to the glare of your cameras. Better yet, come stay here for a few nights. Who knows, you may be permanently altered by the experience.
