According to the most recent Legco monitoring group report, 9 out of 10 top lazybones in Legco came out of functional constituencies. However, 6 in which were automatically re-elected, alongside the other 8 uncontested functional constituencies candidates. The one in particular which got denounced by the concern group, is Timothy Fok, representative of the functional constituency of Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication.
To emphasis on the inrighteousness of legco still having half of its 60 seats reserved for functional constituencies, and the ridiculous talk trying to retain functional constituencies, continuing this proportion setting, onto our ultimate goal of universal suffrage, we decided to start a signature campign to state our stance for the abolishment of the functional constituencies and boycotting its election.
To raise the attention upon the issue further, last Sunday in MingPao, we invited people to comb their hair parted in the middle (after Timothy Fok’s infamous hairstyle), take a photo, and send it in to us at hkpartg@gmail, together with anything you might like to speak out to Timothy Fok, or over the functional constituencies arrangement. We will gather all these received photos and statements to form a joint protest on MingPao this coming Sunday (election day).

唔知毛孟靜會唔會好後悔當日第二次論壇自己追問黃毓民關於泛民該唔該參加功能組別？但與其賴落社民連，不如好好自我檢討，尤其整個公民黨，去思考其積極參選功能組別會否才是其支持度一直下降的理由？不單西九落選，還有九東的低、新界東的低。港島就是拿了兩席，卻也揭示吹谷十萬票是大誇了，害了何秀蘭作為獨立議員最後還要再次動員。至於張超雄落選的新界西，也望別怪陳偉業追問你關於你黨友譚香文的問題，反過來，既然真心為了基層，就快快在跳出功能組別後，跳埋出這個黨吧！叫我同原想同情的吳靄儀，你說功能組別不該是代表業界利益，卻口口聲聲以法律業界選你來支撐你反對功能組別的意向，你知不知道這其實正是加強了功能組別（能產生出認受性）的認受性，以及吻合了那些強說保留功能組別也可以代表超出業界利益的論述？甚至成為他們口實的一部份！）至於余黨魁，認吧，公民黨從來「都是」明星效應！有人指你不支持２０１２是錯的？別撐了！你不是就答０４年單張有提２０１２普選？那今日呢？你說日後還是會這樣爭功能組別，不就是否定了支持下屆取消功能組別？否定下屆全面直選？

I think that's the ultimate question. You can try to change the system from within or from the outside and I think aim of the civic party is to gain majority for the democratic camp to change the system from within. Is that going to be possible? I don't know... probably not... but that's one approach. Honestly, the structural problem of the system hardly stops at the functional constituency, but I don't think people should use that as a reason to disengage from general election entirely.
