小女孩經已六歲，但她自三歲便停止生長。女孩居住的地方，位處前蘇聯核試基地附近，40年內發生500多次核試，長年受輻射嚴重污染。

是紀念烏克蘭切爾諾貝爾核電站事故二十週年。專家估計，這次洩核事故最終會引至數以十萬人死亡，預計將禍延五十至一百年，鄰近烏克蘭的端典北部的癌症患者近年大幅增加，相信也和這次事故有關，而現時白俄羅斯還有數十所同類型的舊式核電廠。

綠色和平攝影師Robert Knoth除了走訪當年核電站災區，還前往多個被輻射污染的重災區，拍攝災區的面貌，曾受污染的地方，很多孩童都患上癌症或因基因變異導致的殘障，那一張張的照片，令人震懾不安。

覺得這些離我們很遠嗎？且看看內地那沒完沒了的的工業事故，大多是負責人急功近利，妄顧環境和安全，早已賠了不少人命，早前黑龍江污染事件，已被人喻為中國的切爾諾貝爾事故。

錫鼓中的小男孩，不肯進入成人世界，拒絕長大，但這長不大的小女孩，卻見証了人間的醜惡。
