突破一向標榜健康正面形象，出版了一本「破碎形象－同性戀醫治與自我回歸」，我在圖書館（544.75 1048）借出的是修訂版，作者是莉安．佩恩。香港公立圖書館有 20 冊 2007 年的版本和 3 冊 1996 年的初版，以我多年閱書的經驗來說，這樣的藏書量是相當罕見的，很多更有名氣的書都沒有這多冊。我就速介這本書的特點。
首先，此書既然要醫治同性戀，那麼同性戀就要是需要醫治的生理疾病。然而，書中提及「....一股動力，嘗試將同性戀了解成生理問題，而不是道德或心理問題」（第 47 頁）。之後，作者強力地評擊這個面向，用上「現今許多同性戀的維護者，似乎十分相信同性戀在心理及生理方面是正常的理論......由於這個理論未被肯定，而事實上又有違我們一切所知的生理、心理知識，所以他們是以假設作論據辯論。他們進而將同性戀的困世界各處見到被剝奪公民權或者少數民族的情況連在一起，以達到他們期望的效果，因此他們無恥地利用連結的力量來爭辯」
這裡就出現了第一個問題，既然作者不同意同性戀並是生理疾病，那麼又需要什麼生理治療呢？錯了，作者所提倡的治療，並不是生理治療，而是「記憶治療」，這裡的記憶也不是指世俗的記憶，用第 16 頁的說法，那是「發掘人被壓制在潛意識裡的痛苦經歷，然後「默觀」耶穌來臨及醫治」。那明顯不過不是生理治療，也不是心理學治療，而是以基督教名詞建立的扶乩。
「記憶治療」並不是完全「默觀」耶穌來臨，有一些前導工作。發掘人被壓制在潛意識裡的痛苦經歷，目的是讓「真正的我」重新控制「我」。而所謂「真正的我」，那就是「遠離神就是分離」。那顯然是以專業外衣包裝的傳教工作。
換句話說，這一套「治療」並不是真正意義的「治療」，而是扶乩，這個「真正的我」亦不是什麼「真正的我」，而是洗腦後的「我」（那仍然是我）。更重要是，那是宗教語言對世俗語言的無恥侵蝕，那套無法以「扶乩」與「洗腦」等詞語所推銷的觀念，經世俗語言包裝後再推銷出去。
此書餘下的大部分都是個案分析，可是理論的根基出了問題，重點只在找尋「痛苦經歷」，並把痛苦經歷與同性戀無恥地連結一起。這些個案人士或多或少是有心理困擾或疾病，但說到底同性戀本質上是什麼疾病呢？書中並沒有說明，只說是不道德（可是不道德的對策不是醫治），這些分析結果都只可以以垃圾來形容。

有關部分已經改正了。的確很無聊，但既然大多數人都不明白他們的「治療」是什麼，那就（以他們的文字）寫出來以供參考。
改造
嚴格來說﹐不是治療﹐而是思想改造吧。不過就算是思想改造﹐只要改造得比原本更好﹐又有什麼問題﹖很多self-help的課程也是行這一套﹐不過這本書用耶穌包裝同埋只針對同性戀單一問題。
此類書，可以不理
老實說，這類治療同性戀的書，真的可以不理，睇到都當睇唔到就算。書的理念一來out，二來說到底就是有一種既定的（宗教）思想需要灌輸。而「突破」出版的，不少都有機會出現此種問題。
有助日後討論
我想很多人不知道「治療同性戀」的內容是什麼，只是罵「治療同性戀」是不尊重同性戀，缺少了對內容的討論。所以我想寫出來，有助日後討論。
這一類書真的很無聊 :(

親近神
那就要視乎親近那個神。親近天主教或傳統基督教如聖公會和路德會﹐當然是改造成功。如果親近如回教或基督教福音基要派的邪神﹐那就是改造失敗。
治療同性戀﹐最好都係用基因治療﹐徹底消除同性戀的基因。

I don't think homosexuality is immoral, they are just defects, like too short or too fat. It's a problem nice to be fixed, but I would thinking fixing smoking is more important than fixing homosexuality.

I am more a deist. The world is not perfect, there are always problems waiting us to fix. Homosexual and smoking are human problem we have to deal with.

the god in the bible could easily be the most prejudice, sexist, racist, anti-gay fictitious character in the history of mankind. the sad thing is: there is a whole bunch of nimrods out there who find this guy makes sense and do bad things (at times wearing a white coat hoping to make it look nicer) to other people in the name of him. the even sadder thing is: these vulgar acts would be recorded and put into a library as if it's a part of our knowledge.
and there's where those defences like "human beings are not perfect" coming into handy.

Seems like Jesus thinks all's right with the world for now, he haven't come back yet. Man should never plan for any supernatural intervention, it's out side of the scope of human experience and knowledge, thus useless by definition.
We don't even cure disease for other species, except maybe those yield profit or highly lovable endanger species, why waste time and energy fixing the gay problem in animals? Animals are human's resource after all.
