at the heart of this city
in this chilly midnight
faraway, in the dream with fragrant of rice
though this heart can beat no more
sleepless night, tear bombs brightly lit up
the sky above, brighter and brighter
we can see stars no more
yet we have never really seen them
by the rite of three steps and a bow
gongs and drums, songs and dances
you have tried to awaken the spirit
beneath the tar, at the heart of the earth
everything got its own name there
flowers in smile, butterflies in ecstasy
please don't say love is nil
before and after please don't say
nothing of love has ever came true
to say we have never meet each other
before the day comes please don't forgo
and please don't forget
tonight, let the fire illuminates us
let's see into each other
enclosing our world
beyond the reach of the world
and please please sleep tight and tranquilly
at the heart, at the heart of this city
